MEDICAL SERVICES

ARC LOGO Small.png
"We sincerely could not host this event without the support of Amicus Response Corps. For 2019, we will again receive medical staff, the ambulance, and onsite 24 hour/day service from Friday, August 9 at 9 a.m. until Sunday, August 11 at 9 p.m. We are grateful for the continued support of Amicus Response Corps; they are tremendous community partners, and without their support, this critical fundraiser would not be feasible for our small charity."
- Nicky Nash, Executive Director of Kids Up Front Calgary
What Do We Offer?

Amicus Response Corps offers free EMS and Event First Aid services to Charities, Non-Profits, and Non-Profiting Community Events. The initiative was created when Easter Seals and the Children's Hospital Aid Society needed First Responders and Medical Services at one of their events.

ARC will provide its personnel and equipment as a volunteer service. ARC will take each event in a case by case manner but reserves the rights to prioritize its previously established relationships.

We do not provide free services to profiting events or provide our EMS services in a for-profit manner. We encourage you to inquire if you are unsure if your organization or event qualifies.

Donation for Coverage Program

ARC is becoming fairly popular within corporate circles that attend and sponsor the charities we service. Due to the constant request of our services, ARC will now provide event medical to events that do not fit our criteria for free services. All donations, whether equipment or monetary will remain within ARC to increase our ability to provide to our charities and non-profits. In order to qualify for this program, your event must:

  • Be small-medium in size

  • Be for a private corporate event

  • Be for a private “personal event”

  • An event for a community population

  • May not be a vendor dependent event (An event created for vendor gain)

  • Not provide us with a conflict with other event medical providers (past contracts, etc)

Examples of the events include, but are not limited to: Polo, Brandings, Fairs, Community Celebrations, Corporate Function Parties, Weddings, Family Reunions, etc.

ARC retains the right to refuse any events that it is unable to cater towards and will always prioritize the charities and non-profits it services over any donation-based event.

Planning and Co-ordination

We take care of your events medical emergency planning, from paper to application, we will ensure that your event is ready to go if something happens. We set up STARS landing zones, ensure AHS, STARS, and Alberta Dispatch Services are aware of the event, its location, and our presence. This lets you focus on other aspects of your events. Rest easy knowing we have you covered!

Who Attends Our Events?

Our events are attended by a dedicated team of volunteer healthcare professionals. We have a large team of Medics and Nurses with a supplementary team of other providers that include Physicians, First Responders, and Healthcare Students.

You can expect an average of 5 attendees and at minimum have 1 Advanced Care Paramedic or Registered Nurse within the crew. We pride ourselves for being a safe learning environment and encourage students of all fields to volunteer with our team! Rest easy knowing your event is being attended by provincially registered and practicing professionals and that you are also allowing students to gain valuable learning experiance.
